My students sit daily on the carpet to learn, work and play. They lay on carpet when writing in their journals, singing their alphabet songs and during mini lessons. This carpet will serve many purposes in our classroom. My students are assigned a square to sit on and always look forward to carpet time for read aloud stories. They work with partners and in groups to complete projects. This carpet also is used for math counting lessons, for dancing and sometimes even for taking a quick nap when they are exhausted. My students will appreciate a new, clean place to sit and learn.
