In the area of communication we often test using a generic test that is the gold standard but cannot delve deeply into each specific area of language development. Districts cannot provide copies of many tests to each school due to limited funding. This project would allow a copy of this test to remain at the school for the times when students are being evaluated for language delays. This test specifically measures vocabulary. This testing would allow for a more complete evaluation when vocabulary is identified as a potential area of concern. Each test provides a different aspect to vocabulary testing. The Expressive One Word helps us understand where a student is in their ability to use vocabulary and the Receptive One Word helps us understand what the student's are retaining and understanding. These two tests work together to help us understand more of what is going on for each student tested.
