My students need a device for taking weekly tests. All standardized tests are now taken on a device. We will use them for our reading stations, math games, multiplication fluency and other ways. We would enjoy our own Kindles so much. Right now we pass around 4 MacBooks in our classroom and the students hardly get any time on them. We could download stories for reading too. Our Kindles would be learning devices used to learn math fluency as the multiplication facts are so important in third grade. It is hard to move forward in math when the facts are not automatic. There are so many games and activities that could be used for this for math, but also reading and other subjects.
