The Unifix cubes will be used mainly when I teach volume. The Base 10 blocks will be used for support as we move into decimal place values. The magnetic Base 10 set is for me to put on the whiteboard so students can see a larger example. The pattern blocks will be used throughout our geometry unit. The measuring tape will be used often when we do experiments, STEM projects, and activities. For example, the students recently did a science experiment where they needed to measure the distance of different paper airplanes. The students are much more engaged when able to manipulate concrete materials.
