Learning through play and movement is very important for all ages of a child's development. Our students have developmental delays that affect all areas of learning including gross motor skills. These items that we have chosen for gym and outdoor play will increase coordination, balance, muscle strength, and even social skills as they play with peers. The tunnel helps our children move and coordinate arms and legs together and maintain balance. The basketball hoops allow our children to strengthen their muscles as they throw balls over their heads while maintaining balance and coordination. The hula hoops spark their curiosity and allow them to experiment with movement while holding the hoop.
