Having the Magic Tree House and Junie B Jones series in my classroom would directly impact my students in a beneficial way. Students at my school come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Many of them do not have the opportunity nor access to books outside of the school library that is visited every other week, with limited inventory. Through this project, they would have novels with their unique level at their fingertips. Struggling readers shy away from books often because they are overwhelmed by the vocabulary and complexity of the storylines. Easier and fun books from a series will help to draw the students in and get them hooked on characters and stories. Before you know it, students are wrapped up in a good story and can't put the book down. My hope is that all students will fall in love with literature.
