Most of my students come to school with little to no reading confidence. Being a first year teacher, my students have limited reading material to choose from in my classroom library. At my school and within my classroom, I work hard to create a positive learning environment the fosters a love for reading. I try to help motivate our students to find books that interest them, but they are limited. My students are excited when I show them different books available that match their interest or bring in books from the school library. I also incorporate a variety of reading programs online to help keep them motivated and expand their interest in reading. Everyone needs a good book! Reading is essential to fostering the imagination and the interest of students. My students will benefit from reading new books in so many ways! New books would help my students build a variety of reading and writing skills that they are currently struggling with and, as a result, build their overall reading confidence. My goal is that my students develop a love for reading which will last a lifetime!
