We have started offering a program called AVID, which focuses on helping students who need a little extra help to excel academically and prepare to go to college. We help students to use writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization and reading techniques in all of their classes. One of the areas we try to focus on with our students is organization. Every year we students a two inch, three ring binder to use the entire school year. These binders do not last more than a semester and if we are lucky the whole year. Our goal is to provide binders for our students that will last not only the school year but hopefully up until the leave us for high school, helping them to be organized and responsible. We do not currently have the money to purchase the caliber of binder for all our students, but if we receive this donation we will be able to help out students who are could really use the extra help. By helping student learn to be organized we know they will be more successful in and out side of school.
