Giving students access to a height adjustable desk will allow them to work more comfortably with me. We also have students with physical needs and/or disabilities that will benefit from being able to use a work space that can accommodate each student. In ELA we often use think-pair-share and peer editing to encourage learning from a different perspective. We do several different pieces of writing each term that focus on a different literary device. I would love to be able to give all students a place where they can collaborate and succeed. Our school also has a 1:1 technology initiative which has given each student a laptop to use at school. Having an over-sized surface will allow students to work side by side on their laptops safely. This table will also allow me to access the textbook and laptop at the same time while conferencing with students.
