I want to take learning into the block center with themed props and Stem building activities to enrich our areas of study. A sturdy set of blocks and accessories are essential in creating this and will most definitely enhance learning opportunities. Adding thematic props and engineering challenges will take their learning to a whole new level. For example, I will provide “real life” photos of things they can build based on what we are learning. In the fall, I might add fall leaves, plastic pumpkins, apples, etc. and students will work cooperatively in building a pumpkin patch, a wagon for apples, or a farm.
