These books will help my students practice their intonation, punctuation awareness, sight words, fluency, and more! The adventures that Elephant and Piggie go on are humorous and bound to catch my students’ attention! We will use this series to practice the inflection in their voices when presented with punctuation marks. The repetitive sentences will help with sight words and fluency! This series will be great when modeled for my students and then given to them for independent practice! Shel Silverstein’s, Where the Sidewalk Ends, is an engaging and humerus way for me to introduce my students to poetry! The non-fiction step into reading books and The Who Was series will help my students feel confident in their reading skills all while learning facts about age and school appropriate people, animals and events!
