My students are some of the kindest and most resilient little people I know. They all have different backgrounds and home lives. However, every day they come into school ready and eager to learn. Some of my students have experienced more hardships than most adults. I want to use literacy to teach my students how to deal with problems effectively. The books I have chosen are all related to social and emotional learning. I know I need to teach my students academics, but I also have a responsibility to teach them how to succeed in the real world. These books will help me to do this while giving my students a memorable reading experience. In our classroom family, we always sit together when we are learning. The rug I have chosen is not only child-friendly but it makes our classroom community come together in a close-knit circle.
