In a school where the accusation of academic fundamentals has been the only focus, our new VAPA program is greatly appreciated by the children and teachers alike. These sketch books and pencils will be the first that my students have ever had. We will be using them to learn the elements of art, perspective drawing, shading, still life, and life drawing. These are invaluable skills that are not only vital for artists but for life. Without having discovered my own artistic ability, I wouldn't be a credentialed teacher today. I want the same for my students. Please help to put these essential tools into hands of our future; Art matters!
