In education, each child is exceptional. In my classroom sits a wide variety of learners, more specifically, gifted and talented children. My students are constantly asking for new reading material and books that they feel connect to their own lives. I have a small classroom library that does not fulfill their reading goals and needs. I am desperately trying to diversify my classroom library and choose novels that will connect, inspire, and enlighten my wonderful students. They are incredibly passionate about reading, and I am constantly amazed at their ability to comprehend whatever is thrown at them. I would love to be able to provide classroom resources for my students who may not be able to afford a collection of books at home. Most students in my classes feel like our classroom is their home away from home, so I would love to be able to give them a classroom library that they can be proud of. Many of my students experience situations at home that cause them to seek an escape in a book. Books at any age are a thing of magic and what a shame it would be for a child to not get to experience all the magic books have to offer. "And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely of places.
