My project addresses the literacy needs of my students who have a variety of reading disabilities. In my class which is high school students, we read every day. Students in my class struggle with reading as high school students they are embarrassed to read materials geared towards the elementary level students. This makes it hard at times to get them to enjoy reading. All students need to learn to love to read. The magazines from Scholastic offer interesting current events geared to Jr. and High School Students who read at the higher elementary levels. Offering my students materials they are interested in but, at their reading level will open many doors for my students. They will no longer hate reading, because they are embarrassed about the reading material.
