Currently the pots and pans students are utilizing are over 30 years old and are showing their wear and tear. The pans are crusted with years of past students cooking. When students take the pots and pans from the cabinets they say, "This is so gross, Mrs. Jacobsen!" For students to use materials that are just as valuable as they are would be fantastic! Students get so excited on cooking days. When I do a demonstration the day before them cooking, I have many students wanting to come up and volunteer to be part of the demo. From FACS class, they learn so many life skills from finances to sewing, but cooking is by far their favorite!
