Funds would go directly to purchasing materials for art. Screen printing is one of the many things we will be working on. Most of the students in my district are "at risk." Our county population is plagued by high unemployment, high poverty, low academic achievement, and a high drop-out rate. Being an elective type of class, we "elective teachers" get overlooked many times because we have to get these low performing students achieving better in the core subjects. Students can't afford the items that are being ordered. These supplies will continue to enhance the Art classroom experience that I strive to create. My art room is a place that my students really enjoy- they complete work here, and they work independently! Not only will they be able to choose projects that interest them, but many will also be real-world, "Business World", projects that can provide an income in the future.
