Due to the fact that my students come from a low socio-economic background, they are faced with many obstacles in their lives. The conditions they encounter do not deter them from their learning. A major roadblock I encounter on a daily basis is lack of available technology to help support their learning. Their reading comprehension is very low and technology is not available at home to continue working on comprehension at home. Technology is not very accessible at my school either because we are limited in the use of computers we do have. The use of a class set of computers is assigned to grade levels per week. Students become very motivated to read and test on comprehension, but they become discouraged once they are no longer available the following week. My students would greatly appreciate your donations to give them the opportunity to experience learning through technology!
