Headphones are a must when you use some of the educational programs that have been selected for the students at our school district. We used the educational software called Istation. This software tests the students at the beginning of each month and then puts together mini-lessons to help students improve on the topics for State Assessments. This requires the assistance of headphones. Each student is issued a student computer, however, we cannot issue headphones. To some this is insignificant, but the state-mandated tests are given on the computer and headphones are a necessity. The headphones give the students a chance to hear every word without disturbing other students who are testing. They are also used to help reward students. The opportunity to get to listen to music or play a game with sound has proved to be a great motivational tool for us. Many of our students' parents cannot afford to buy headphones and so they have to borrow. There are times when this is not an option because all of the students are using theirs. In the past fellow teachers have purchased extra ones in expectancy of this, but If we had enough to hand out it would take care of this problem. Please help us!
