My students have access to technology in a variety of ways. One way is through the use of Chromebooks. Each student in my classroom has a Chromebook that they are allowed to use daily at school. We use our Chromebooks in a variety of ways. Students read e-books, complete research, participate in active learning games and activities. Students complete assignments and learn skills that will prepare them for the future. Some of the apps and activities would be better used and more beneficial to my students if they were EACH able to have headphones and a laptop mouse to use. Students could have better focus and individualized learning. Students in my room greatly benefit from being able to hear things read aloud to them and hear songs that are content based. However, in a full classroom, without headphones for each child, it makes management of this activity more difficult. Students also use hands-on technology manipulatives, having a laptop mouse for them to use would make these activities more user-friendly.
