I currently have an iPad in the classroom and use it for students who need help with handwriting or number identification. Students trace their names, numbers and letters. This helps them with writing and reading. In addition, it helps students recognize their numbers. Some students come into kindergarten unable to write their names and this allows them an easy way to trace their name, learn to write it and also hear the letters in their name to be able to identify them. Furthermore, I am able to let them do this independently while I can work with other students. My old iPad is just not enough for the class. It takes me all day to get through a few students. With an additional iPad, I can get them all finished in the morning and focus on other things.
