"If animals play, this is because play is useful in the struggle for survival; because play practices and so perfects the skills needed in adult life." (Susanna Miller) I want the students in my classroom to play and exercise their imaginations more. The little children spend most of their days on electronic devices and Myspace. How can I make my class different? Toys! I can use an old school tactic to get the student to use their imagination and create historical projects. For example, when we are studying World War II, the students can recreate famous events like the attack on Pearl Harbor. Having the little people, ships, planes, and vehicles, brings it all alive. Please help me to get these little children to play! Tweeter can't compete against toys. "Play keeps us vital and alive. It gives us an enthusiasm for life that is irreplaceable, Without it, life just doesn't taste good." (Lucia Capacchione)
