I teach a STEM elective in a rural North Carolina middle school. Our Title 1 school's population is very diverse, we are approximately 30% Caucasian, 30% African American and 40% Latino/a/Hispanic. A vast majority of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch. My students want to do more labs and activities but sharing a set of goggles among three teachers has limited my attempts to implement more labs in my classroom. My students have so much potential I just want to awaken their curiosity for science and thirst for knowledge.
