Our 3rd-5th grade students are the young leaders of our school. They are inquisitive, outspoken, and always ready to learn. However, just as with any group of young people their bodies are beginning to change just as much as their brains.
Our team would like to introduce our oldest students to good practices of hygiene and self-care to help them set the foundation for these very important life skills. However, as a title 1 school many of our children and families may not have immediate access to some of these everyday items. With your help we can set them up for success not only in the classroom, but in everyday life!
If our project is funded the Wellness team at our school will lead small groups lessons with all of our 3-5th grade students. We will have open and honest discussions about what self care means, what it can look like on the inside and the outside, and how to use the tools in their hygiene kits to take time to care for themselves at the start of everyday.
