The ice machine is used for injuries, headaches, and even just a little reassurement everything will be ok. Nurses rely on ice to help reduce swelling and discomfort if an injury as occurred. This could be related to a broken bone, a bumped head, or any other injury that may occur. The otoscope will allow the school nurse to check the students' inner ears. This will allow the nurse to see if there is any abnormality within the ear that the student may need to see his or her doctor for. This will also help the nurse know why the student may be in pain. The blood pressure machine will be used to check any student having symptoms of low blood pressure such as dizziness, blurred vision, headache, or any other life threatening condition. All of these will be used to help keep my students safe while they are at school. We live in a low income area, and all of these would help keep my students healthy as possible. A healthy is student is a student who can learn.
