My students are 9-12th graders. They have a variety of disabilities, including but not limited to (Moderate to Severe): autism, down syndrome, mental retardation, behavior control, and some other disabilities. They all attend to a public school, in a specialized individual instruction classroom. My students enjoy when they're engaged in group activities during our five domains: Recreation & Leisure, Vocational, Domestic, Functional Academics, and Community. And each of these domains reminds me to teach them what they will need to survive in life. They have fun with peers playing games and taking turns (Recreation & Leisure), cooking their favorite meals (domestic), accomplishing tasks (vocational), learn to handle money and be aware of time (Functional Academics), and walk to a local shopping area to experience community involvement (community).
