I am setting out to create a library that explores the diverse cultures within our country and abroad. Cultural values and perspectives can seem so different and complex. Yet, our basic needs are all the same. Through the works that have inspired so many wonderful educators, creators, and public servants, I hope to stock my classroom library with books that inspire each one of my unique students. I'd like to offer them a safe place to explore alternative perspectives, cultural values, and complex challenges. I'd like them to be able to compare the trials and tribulations of the characters within these books others to their own.
