These STEM activities and games will be used by all students to encourage meaningful interactions, cooperation, and creativity. Our classroom does not currently have any building supplies or games. I would incorporate the use of these supplies into science curriculum while also using them for choice "STEM Time" and during rainy day recesses. Choice STEM Time will be a reward for students who have met goals or classroom expectations. My students will be so excited when they get to build with LEGO bricks or compete in a game of Jenga during class parties instead of watching a movie! As part of our leadership focus, students are learning the importance of synergy. When students go home and watch television, play video games, or get on social media, they are not learning and practicing fundamental cooperative skills. Therefore, our classroom needs to be a place where students have fun while learning and playing with others. I've witnessed my students actively engaged in building spaceship landers in science and playing math games together and it's magical. I am so excited to be able to provide more of these fun and interactive experiences for my current and future students.
