A lot of my students do not have supplies from home or to use at home, with these supplies they will feel better about doing their school work. They will worry more about learning and less about the materials needed for school. If I am able to provide ample paper, notebooks, folders, and pencils for my students to be better organized, they will start to flourish! My students will use the paper and notebooks to write down important notes and their big ideas! Without the materials such as paper, my students struggle to have quality notes and work. The school does not supply a lot of materials for the students as far as folders and paper goes, and only a couple of my students' families have sent in supplies. A majority of the students are not able to provide paper, folders, or pencils. We get two packs of printer paper for a month (1,000 sheets) which may seem like a lot, until you realize that we have to print out 25 x however many sheets for each student. A given social studies or science lesson could take up close to 400 sheets alone! If we do not have copy paper, the students have to take notes on lined paper, which they also do not have! After the work is completed, they have no folder to place their work in! This is a daily struggle that shouldn't be what the students are focused on. Let the learning be the focus and give my students the supplies they need to be the best students they can be.
