All of my students want to learn and do their best each day. All of my students thrive best when they can move around the classroom and not be stuck in a chair at a desk. These stability balls and stand up desks will provide two more options for my students when it comes to seat choices. These seating/standing choices will allow students to find an environment in which they learn best. This will increase their on task behavior, motivation to learn and overall learning environment. As of now my students can sit in bean bags, on carpet squares, under desks, on a pillow or at different tables. Their overall engagement in their work is so much higher when they have some choice in where to sit. My students are active children who are ready to learn and thrive when given choice on where to sit in the classroom. The stand up desks will allow students who need to move, and work better when they can move their legs an option to do their work. The stability balls can be used at any desk or table in the classroom and allow students who need to move the option to do so, while still completing their work in a non disruptive way. I have seen how choice, and ownership of ones work environment can positively impact and motivate a student to learn. I know these new seating options will have a positive impact on their learning!
