4th grade students are already a social bunch, so why not try to incorporate this into their learning? I am hoping to get rectangular tables to replace the desks in my room. I believe that these tables would be beneficial for my students in helping them to collaborate and in presenting them with more opportunities to work with each other. Learning to work with others is such a valuable skill, and one that my students can take with them as they step into the adult world and work force. I am also hoping to create a larger workspace for my students and to better utilize our classroom space. Long rectangular tables also lends itself to more hands projects, which in turn further engages my students in what they are learning. In our classroom, we are a family, and my students love working with each other to complete hands-on projects and activities. These tables would help make this learning environment more accessible for them. I am passionate about my students and what I do and I want my students to love learning and to love coming to school everyday. I want to create an environment that fosters this thirst for knowledge, inspires creative thinking, and encourages collaboration. These tables would be a step in the right direction in helping us to achieve these goals!
