It is increasingly difficult to keep students engaged in their education. Turning lessons in to games or competitions is a great way to keep them interested. It promotes participation among groups of students who are reluctant to do so otherwise. I currently use a system of students raising their hands to compete during classroom reviews or mini competitions. Conducting the class with this method is difficult and can encourage arguing among students. I have seen classrooms that use the EGGspert classroom buzzer sets and they make a world of difference.
The Eggspert system encourages fast thinking and important social skills, promotes friendly classroom competition, and develops important motor skills for quick answers. The wireless controller makes it easy for the teacher to roam the classroom to promote participation and monitor behaviors. The dry erase boards will be used for student answers during review and lessons, they will also be used for student questions about the lessons. Some of my students do now want to ask questions with the attention of the class on them. these boards will allow them to engage with out the fear of social pressures.
