These materials will support he hands on learning of students. Many students benefit from additional kinetic supports to access the curriculum and their individual goals. The use of manipulatives, fidgets and alternative seating helps students to engage in the lessons more fully. The use of visual manipulatives for math support students to learn the math concepts in a concrete way. My students are studying fractions, decimals, multiplication, division and place value in their classes. They need the Fractions pack and magnetic fractions to help them see and manipulate the concepts they are learning about. The multiplication and regrouping kit will also support them in this way as well as the place value discs. The use of sensory and occupational supports students with sensory needs to engage their minds without their bodies distracting them from the tasks. The use of wiggle stools support students with occupational therapy needs to sit in a way that is most supportive for their kinesthetic needs. Pencil grips help students to write more fluidly so they can focus on the concepts and not the physical act of writing. Theraputty is a tool used to engage the body so that the mind is able to focus on the lessons needing to be learned. The materials in the project will support the other areas of learning and engagement that my students need to reach their individualized goals. The physical manipulatives will support deeper understanding. The sensory tools will help to engage their minds and bodies in the learning at hand.
