By donating to this project you are helping to prevent a child from falling behind. These materials will be intended for various uses, the main being to provide manipulatives and materials that help to develop the skills necessary for Kindergarten. I plan to present each students with one of these bags at our pre-K graduation. One of the biggest problems with ‘summer vacation’ is that 2.5+ months away from learning, especially for underprivileged children, could have life long lasting educational affects. Have you ever heard the term “if you don’t use it you loose it..”? That holds true with education as well. If you sit in front of video games all summer and never explore other materials you may regress in social-emotional behavior, Fine and Gross motor skills, memory etc. These take home bags will include: Pencils Erasers Dry erase crayons & a white board A book of their interest - maintain/excel with literacy practices A folder with name writing practice sheets Play dough & Toys - help maintain fine motor development
