My school does not currently have any Orff instruments which include xylophones, metallophones, glockenspiels, and bass resonating bars. I would like our collection to start with a bass bar since any piece of music requires a pulse for its foundation. A bass bar would keep a pulse to any song while giving students the experience of playing a musical instrument. There are unlimited music, movement, and dance activities that can apply to this significant classroom instrument. The bass bar is a single bar made of Rosewood that is set on a large birchwood resonator box played with a hand held mallet. Hopefully this will be the beginning of our expansion of the Orff instrument collection that plays a vital role in the elementary music experience. Please help provide this instrumental opportunity that will advance the music education of every student that enters my classroom.
