Due to our students struggling with distance learning and the lack of physical and social connections, my school site and I would like to begin a virtual Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports, PBIS, system where students can earn rewards for their virtual participation and academic effort. This virtual system would be similar to the physical system established on our campus where students earn "dolphin dollars" for their positive behaviors which would include: being a leader on campus, making good decisions, showing respect, returning work completed and with significant effort put into it, etc. This virtual PBIS system would make a difference in the student's learning by encouraging and rewarding students who are consistently showing up and being a community member regardless of the distance we are facing physically. With the assistance given we would be able to better support teachers by providing students with a reward system they are familiar with. This would also assist our families with being able to afford to give their students a reward for their flexibility and understanding in these difficult times.
