With the various learning abilities and with ELL students, having some hands on materials will only enhance what is been taught taught verbally. Since some students struggle with certain concepts the manipulatives can be used to help emphasize what they may be having a hard time grasping. When students are fully engaged, they are learning. Tools make learning fun and students are more involved in the classroom. The fraction tiles can be used to have students get a better understanding of operations with fractions; and the same can be said about the card decks for integers as well. Also the allowance game will be very helpful when personal finance is covered.
