Flexible seating allows my children to choose how they want to sit while also fulfilling their sensory needs. The Wobble Seats and Balance Ball Seats still allow my students to move while remaining at the table during instruction. Keeping the students moving will decrease disruptions allowing for more instructional time to address the student's skills and needs. The Bean Bag Chair will be used in our break area when the students need a minute to themselves to get back into work mode! The Amazon Fire tablet will help in generalizing the students' skills through various games and other applications. Skill generalization is extremely important for students with autism, and that includes being able to perform their skills across various materials. Teaching the students how to use a tablet will increase their independence during work time. Tablets are also high motivators for some of my students. The students will be able to work for playing on the tablet or for watching a video they enjoy. Having a highly motivating reinforcer will increase the students' will to work and practice skills!
