Learning throwing and catching takes equipment, and the equipment must be of proper size and material in order to acquire skills without injury. The foam balls are exactly what we need! The poly spots are for location so each student knows where to stand. Standing in a single location without moving all over the place is crucial in fine-tuning one's accuracy while throwing and catching a ball. The spots help the students stay in their spot. As they get better I have them pick up their spot and move it to a further location. Furthermore, poly spots can be used in other activities where spacial awareness is a necessity. Certain activities require students to be in "personal space" and I can show them this by having them stand or sit on the spots that I place throughout the room, black top, or field.
