My students will be able to learn about force and motion, fluids and solids, and explore the engineering design process. In the lab experiments, students work in small teams to design and experiment with parachutes. They will use investigation skills like observation, hypothesizing, gathering data, and making conclusions. Hands-on investigations like these allow students to experience science the way real scientist do, through asking questions and exploring their own ideas. iFly is a hands-on full body STEM experience that will help reinforce the concepts I am teaching in the classroom. They will get to practice the skills that are vital to the scientific process. They will also be exposed to new ideas about STEM careers and ways that STEM can be apart of their future. This opportunity will leave a lasting impression on each student.
