Writing is a daily part of third grade life. Being able to express yourself with words is a life skill students start learning in elementary school. However, some of my most unique voices in class have great difficulty putting pen to paper. Many of these students struggle with dyslexia, or sensory impairments that make it harder for them to write like their peers. We're fortunate to have an iPad cart once a week that we share among our grade level. I've noticed that when my struggling writers have the opportunity to type their thoughts they are better able to express themselves in words. Unfortunately, they are only given this opportunity once a week. With these Chromebooks, I can ensure that my reluctant writers will have the opportunity to shine and share their thoughts with their peers and the world. The chance to be heard and understood by their classmates would be life changing for my students. This technology, would ensure that they can participate in writing at a far greater rate than what they are achieving now. I would also be able to use the technology for the rest of my class during other parts of the day as well. Our google classroom game is strong and the students use technology to create slides, stories, presentations, videos and so many other things throughout the week. Won't you help us make school that place for all of our students?
