My students seem to be very aware about what they have and need in our classroom. When I asked students what were some things that they thought we were in need of in our classroom to help them be successful their responses were unanimous. Everyone suggested basic classroom supplies that they seemed to have run out of or were unable to bring to school such as pencils, highlighters, erasers, folders, and scissors. We have one manual pencil sharpener hanging on our wall which students have a difficult time using as it doesn't do a great job sharpening. By donating these supplies to our classroom project not only will you help brighten my students faces, but also give us the supplies needed for Writer's and Reader’s Workshop. We have several spaces within the classroom where students get to chose to work at during workshop. I would love to be able to stock enough supplies in these areas for students to keep them focused and on task without having to get up and search or ask others for the supplies. For some reason it seems like we go through a lot of pencils and erasers. In our writing binders it would also be lovely for students to be able to separate the resources I give them and their written work with tab dividers. I know students would especially love having new electric pencil sharpeners to quickly get them back in their seats to finish writing their thoughts down.
