Children with Autism are affected differently by everyday noise. They require instruction within the classroom to include self - regulating strategies. My students all love computer instruction time, so this is a perfect time to begin creating independence in self - regulating auditory intake. Noise limiting headphones will be used during individual computer instruction to ensure my students are focused on learning. The noise canceling headphones will be available for individual use in all school environments. Having these headphones available will allow my students to transfer learned strategies from within the structured setting of the AU classroom to all other areas within the school. These headphones will ensure each student is able to focus on lessons and social interactions within specials classes, the library, and the cafeteria and not the distraction of superfluous noise.
