Teaching language learners offers the challenge of finding authentic books for them to engage with. Books for classroom libraries in Spanish are difficult to come by through traditional means. Often, students are limited to books that come with curriculum which makes less engaging for them to enjoy books when reading for pleasure. Funds received will go towards purchasing trade books that will keep these budding readers interested and engaged with their texts. Students will enjoy recognizing characters from books familiar to them in English and being able to read about them in Spanish. Having more options and varying levels will engage all students. A focus will be placed on finding books that speak to the various background of the students and that put emphasis on Latin culture.
