Each student at our school has an Individual Education Program, which most of the time requires the students to be on a leveled point system. Students are taught behaviors skills and are reinforced for using the appropriate skills throughout the day. Students also earn reinforcement for completing academic tasks. These students have limited experiences outside of school, and our aim is to teach them the appropriate skills needed to access community and life opportunities. To motivate these students, our school needs supplies that are engaging and interesting to our student population. The items we are requesting are activities that are enjoyable to our students such as basketball, ping pong, and card games. Not only will these activities help us motivate our students to learn and display the appropriate behaviors, the activities will also provide experiences these students do not have on a day to day basis and encourage collaboration with peers through game play.
