My English language learner population is rapidly growing each year. Students from all walks of life, culture and language are entering my classroom. As excited as I am to teach them, I worry I’m not able to provide all the support they need simultaneously. Adapting to a new culture and language can be an overwhelming task. The use of iPads in the classroom will allow students to communicate better not only with me, but with their peers through the use of translation. iPads and headphones will enable students to search for visual aids to help them understand a concept. It will also allow them to go at their own pace and obtain a much needed mental break.
