Many students' homes are still in the process of being rebuilt and possessions being replaced after Hurricane Harvey. The library has become an oasis for many of these students, providing a safe place with access to resources and innovative equipment to explore while their homes are being rebuilt and belongings replaced. Our diverse and multi-talented students will have the opportunity to explore a multitude of projects through our advanced makerspace with the help of the heat press, beat pad, photo printer, and more which will help them to put Hurricane Harvey behind them. The students create many things in our library and have requested we add some upgrades to our makerspace. They would like upgrades to the recording studio (a beat pad and more soundproofing), the green screen room (a special lighting kit), the photo booth (a printer instead of just emailing digital pictures), the cafe (stanchions for crowd control), karaoke machine (new mics and cords), and more!
