When this project is funded I will be able to plan more hands-on learning with my students and eliminate minutes lost to set up and tear down. Right now, I have some world drums that are fantastic, but are a pain for my younger students to pull out and often lead to disorganization. With the new hand drums, I will be able to easily pass them out and have students pass them to each other without any lugging of drums that are bigger than some of them! As a music teacher, I try to avoid paper as much as possible. My students should be singing, dancing, and playing instruments- but some musical skills do require writing! The Dry Erase sleeves and markers will make written notation practice a breeze as well as being a quick way to assess student progress. I wasted so much paper last year and these sleeves and markers will cut down on paper use and broken pencils. The 10-drawer organizer will not only keep me organized with visual aides, small instruments, and manipulatives, but will serve as a projector cart. Due to limited space in our school, I teach in the cafeteria and any storage that can pull double duty without taking up valuable seating space is a life saver.
