My students will read from authors whose work resembles their identities and their experiences. By contributing to our project, you are funding an opportunity for students to develop a positive relationship between reading and themselves. Students will learn symbolism, foreshadowing, voice, and other literary devices that will help as they develop their voice as readers and writers! We will closely read, analyze, and critique how the author brings to life her characters and how it or if it relates to our world. This work will touch on familiar and relevant experiences and others we could not or have not imagined.
