My students have varied reading and writing abilities. The Scholastic News magazine allows them to read and see how others around the world experience life in understandable context. The magazine stories can help my students connect their life experiences to those in regions we study. The color, bold captions and graphics in the magazine will appeal to those students in my inclusive classroom that crave these stimuli in their reading material. As we study various world regions and discuss current events, the magazine articles and activities can help my students understand how citizens in our world often experience events that can be related to their personal experiences.
